AGREEMENT TO TERMS
By downloading, installing, or using Arcadia ("the app", "we", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the app.
ELIGIBILITY
- You must be at least 13 years old to use Arcadia
- If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account
ACCOUNT AND AUTHENTICATION
Google Sign-In
Arcadia uses Google Sign-In for authentication. By signing in, you authorize us to access your Google account information (email, name, profile picture) as described in our Privacy Policy.
Account Security
- You are responsible for all activity under your account
- Notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access
- Do not share your account credentials with others
- We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms
USER CONTENT AND CONDUCT
Your Content
You retain ownership of content you create in Arcadia, including:
- Game library entries (ratings, status, hours played)
- Reviews and written feedback
- Profile information (username, bio, profile picture)
- AI-generated roasts and badges you save
By posting content, you grant Arcadia a non-exclusive, worldwide license to use, display, and distribute your content within the app and for promotional purposes.
Prohibited Conduct
You agree NOT to:
- Post content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, vulgar, obscene, or otherwise objectionable
- Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation
- Spam, harass, or abuse other users through reviews, friend requests, or any other feature
- Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or hack the app
- Use automated tools (bots, scripts) to interact with the app
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations
- Abuse rate limits or attempt to overload our servers
Violation of these rules may result in content removal, account suspension, or permanent ban without notice.
FEATURES AND SERVICES
Library Tracking
Track your game library with status, ratings, hours played, and reviews. Your library data is synced to the cloud and cached locally for offline access.
AI Features
Arcadia uses AI services (Groq, Google Gemini) to provide personalized recommendations, insights, and roasts based on your library data. By using AI features, you acknowledge:
- Your library data is sent to third-party AI providers
- AI-generated content may be inaccurate, biased, or inappropriate
- Roasts are intended as humor and may contain sarcastic or critical language
- We are not responsible for AI-generated content that offends or harms you
Social Features
Connect with friends, send friend requests, view profiles, and interact with community reviews. Social features are subject to daily limits:
- Daily friend request limit to prevent spam
- Maximum pending outgoing requests cap
- Maximum friends cap (may be adjusted)
Community Reviews
Write and read game reviews, like reviews, and see friend reviews first. Reviews are public and visible to all users. You can edit or delete your reviews at any time.
Push Notifications
Receive notifications for friend requests, friend acceptances, and other updates via OneSignal. You can disable notifications in your device settings.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
Arcadia integrates with third-party services:
- IGDB: Game metadata and information
- Appwrite: Cloud database, authentication, and storage
- Groq & Google Gemini: AI recommendations and insights
- OneSignal: Push notifications
- Google Sign-In: Authentication
These services have their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for their practices or any issues arising from their use.
INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Our Rights
Arcadia, its logo, design, code, and all related materials are owned by us or our licensors. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our permission.
Game Data
Game metadata (titles, cover art, descriptions) is provided by IGDB and is owned by their respective copyright holders. We do not claim ownership of this content.
DISCLAIMERS AND LIMITATIONS
AS-IS SERVICE
Arcadia is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the app will be error-free, secure, or always available.
No Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for:
- Loss of data or content
- Service interruptions or downtime
- Inaccurate AI-generated content
- Actions of other users
- Third-party service failures
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Data Backup
While we implement backup systems, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important data. We are not liable for data loss.
TERMINATION
Your Right: You may stop using Arcadia and delete your account at any time through our account deletion page.
Our Right: We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for violating these terms, with or without notice.
Effect: Upon termination, your access to the app will cease, but these terms will continue to apply to past use.
CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. If you do not agree, stop using the app.
GOVERNING LAW
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration or in courts of competent jurisdiction.
