Arcadia ("we", "our", or "the app") is a game library management and social gaming companion. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Android application.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account Information
When you sign in with Google, we collect:
- Email address
- Display name
- Profile picture URL
- Google account ID
User-Generated Content
- Game library entries (games you add, status, ratings, hours played)
- Reviews you write
- Friend connections and friend requests
- Profile information you provide (username, bio, featured badges)
- AI-generated roasts and badges you choose to save
Automatically Collected Data
- OneSignal Player ID (for push notifications)
- Basic device information for app functionality
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
- Core Functionality: To manage your game library, display your profile, and enable social features (friends, reviews, realtime sync)
- AI Recommendations: Your library data is sent to AI services (Groq, Google Gemini) to generate personalized game recommendations, insights, and roasts
- Push Notifications: To notify you of friend requests, friend acceptances, and other relevant updates via OneSignal
- Social Features: To connect you with friends, display shared gaming activity, and show friend reviews first in game details

DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
- Your data is stored securely on Appwrite cloud infrastructure with industry-standard security practices
- Authentication tokens are stored in encrypted SharedPreferences on your device
- We use HTTPS encryption for all network communications
- API keys are proxied through secure servers and not embedded in the app
- Local cache uses Room database with offline-first architecture for fast, reliable access
CAMERA PERMISSION
The app requests camera access solely for QR code scanning to add friends. Camera data is processed locally using MLKit and is not stored or transmitted to any server.
DATA SHARING
We do not sell your personal information.
Your data may be shared only:
- With AI providers (Groq, Gemini) to generate recommendations and insights based on your library
- With other users according to your privacy settings (profile visibility, friend connections, public reviews)
- If required by law or to protect our rights
YOUR RIGHTS
You have full control over your data:
- Access: View and export your data through the app's profile and settings
- Edit: Update your profile, reviews, library entries, and friend connections at any time
- Delete: Remove your reviews, library entries, and request full account deletion
ACCOUNT DELETION
You can request deletion of your Arcadia account and all associated data at any time:
Verification Required: To process requests and prevent fraud, we may ask you to verify ownership by replying from the same email address used in Arcadia.
Retention Period: We retain deletion request emails for up to 90 days after completion, then permanently delete them.
Permanent Action: Account deletion is irreversible. All your library data, reviews, friend connections, and profile information will be permanently removed.
CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
Arcadia is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately at the email below.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of Arcadia after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
